A man was seen around 7:45 P.M struggling to stay above water about 200 feet from the shoreline and now he was missing. The thought of this gives me a horrible feeling. I personally am terrified of the ocean. The waves are too strong and I am really, really scared of sharks. So when I looked out into the deep, dark waters that were crashing down on the beach with such mighty power, I couldn't help but feel so incredibly scared for whoever was out there. It gives me chills just thinking about being in that large, eerie body of water. It ends up that they searched for 3 hours straight and then continued in the morning but unfortunately had no luck.
This picture is beautiful but I would NOT want to be in that!
I could not help but keep thinking about this poor soul and the waves that captured him, but Jesus kept coming to mind as well. In the book of Mark, Jesus calms the sea with just his words. His words! The Police, Fire Department, Coast Guard, and Lifeguards could not calm the sea to make the waves stop so they could find this man. But Jesus, He just spoke and told the sea to be at peace and it listened! What a wonderful feeling it is to know that one of the things that terrifies me to death can be calmed by my Lord with just his words. I need to remember this for when there is a storm or big wave crashing down on me in my life. The Lord is stronger than anything out there and I am so blessed to have Him be on my side, being my life floatie. :)
This picture reminds me of something I would have seen in Sunday School

Mark 4:35-40
Jesus Calms the Storm
35 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” 36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. 37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
